Centennial 9.5-11.5 USA Ale styles, Wheat beers Medium with floral and citrus tones Cascade, possibly Columbus or Chinook. Analytically a blend of 70% Cascade and 30% Columbus will give similar profile. Celebration. At one time this variety was going to be destroyed for lack of interest by the world’s major breweries. Today has found a very favorable
following by craft-brewers.

Chinook 12.0-14.0 USA Pale Ale, IPA, Stout, Porter, Lager Mild to medium-heavy, spicy, piney and distinctly grapfruity Nugget, Columbus, Northern Brewer, Wye Target, possibly Centennial Released in the US industry in 1985 and becoming increasingly popular with craft-brewers.
Cluster 5.5-8.5 USA Ale, Lager Medium and quite spicy Galena, possibly US Northern Brewer For years the standard US cultivar, improved mass
selection in the mid-sixties. Limited acreage grown
today.
Columbus 14.0-16.0 USA IPA, Pale Ale, Stout, Lager Pleasant, is a pungent hop Nugget, Chinook, Wye Target, Northern Brewer,
possibly Centennial
Also know as Tomahawk. Considered similar to
Zeus.
Crystal 2.0-4.5 USA Pale Ale, IPA, Porter, Barley wines Mild and pleasant, spicy and flowery Mt. Hood, Hersbruck, French Strisselspalt, Liberty, Hallertau Primarily grown in Oregon. Acreage is increasing. Released in the 1990’s.
First Gold 6.5-8.5 Germany ESB, Ale A little like a Golding, spicy  
Fuggle 4.0-5.5 USA American Ales, English Styles Mild and pleasant, earthy and fruity UK Fuggle, Willamette, Styrian Golding, US Tettnang Also know overseas as Styrian (Savinja) Golding in Slovenia and as UK Fuggle in England. In the US it
has been replaced in part by Willamette (triploid Fuggle), which growers find more favorable.
Fuggle 4.0-5.5 UK All English style Ales, ESB, Bitter, Lager Mild, pleasant, hoppy, robust hop US Fuggle, Willamette, Styrian Golding Once a predominant hop in England but now reserved for aroma use in conjunction with high
alpha types.
Galena 12.0-14.0 USA Ale, Porter, Stout, ESB, Bitter Medium but pleasant hoppiness, citrussy Nugget Released in 1978.
Glacier 5.5 USA Pale Ale, ESB, Bitter, English-Style Pale Ale, Porter, Stout Excellent, pleasant hoppiness Willamette, US Fuggle, US Tettnang, Styrian Golding Released as a public variety in 2000 by Dr. Stephen Kenny, Washington State University. It was chosen for its low cohumulone and good yield potential.
Goldings 4.0-5.0 USA Pale Ale, ESB, English Styles Mild, extremely pleasant, and gently hoppy UK East Kent Golding, UK Progress and possibly the Fuggle family. UK Golding clones have been introduced for
growing here in Washington and Oregon. Before
being grown in the US, there was a Golding grown
in British Columbia (BC Golding), there are no longer any more BC Golding hops grown.

Kent Golding 4.0-5.5 UK All English style Ales, ESB, Bitter Gentle, fragrant, and pleasant    
Liberty 3.0-5.0 USA Lager, Pilsner, Bock, Wheat Mild and pleasant, quite fine, slightly spicy character    
Magnum 12.0-14.0 Germany Lagers, Pilsner types, Stout. No real distinct aroma character, so is viewed favorably as a clean bittering hop    
Mt. Hood 5.0-8.0 USA Lager, Pilsner, Bock, Wheat Mild, pleasant and clean, somewhat pungent and resiny    
Northern Brewer 8.0-10.0 USA ESB, Bitter, English Pale Ale, Porter Medium-strong, some wild American tones
